I read in the Riverkeeper Report that you use Silver Buddies a lot, why?
Silver Buddies or Blade baits are a good artifitial lure in cold water conditions because of their depth and speed control. Fish in cold water tend to hold at a particular depth, a vertically jigged lure can stay at the proper depth or remain in the “fish zone” longer. Speed control of a lure is very imortant in cold water, fish slow down and so should your presentation of that lure. The blade bait allows that yet still attracts strikes. These are reasons I fish blade baits in water below 45 degrees. Another reason is I have taken every species of fish in the river on this lure.
