Fly Ash at RT 58 bridge construction tested by VDOT & found to be not dangerous to humans or the environment. I have asked for those test results to compare to ours taken in 2007. A good effort is being taken to contain the ash from getting into the river. DEQ & VDOT have been cooperative thus far.
Trot lines and drop line regulations are not clear in VDGIF handbook. No specific wording requiring tackle to be removed from river if not being fished. I have written to our District rep. Richard Railey and asked if he will work to get this changed.
BNRP stickers for promotional efforts. Very expensive for nice vinyl 3 ½ X 3 ½ full logo color at $3.49 per and 250 order minimum = $900. After a discussion was held, other options will be checked into.
An award for outstanding community service will be presented to the BNRP by the South Centre’ Corridors Resource Conservation & Development Council Monday Sept 29th at the Beacon Theater in Hopewell VA at 6pm.
Cows are still in both rivers so I will be beginning a new more aggressive campaign on that. Our Soil & Water District has contacted both farmers and they have refused assistance. I will be filing formal complaints.
