Spirit of Moonpie and I have actually gotten out on the river a couple of times since I last reported to you. Freezing Deer, Moonpie and I went out one morning and picked up a bag of trash around the boardwalk. I could not believe we found a dirty diaper in the water right there where people fish. You just let Moonpie catch that happening and I assure you they will not do it again!

Spirit of Moonpie & I spent the 19th through the 20th on the Blackwater below the Steel Bridge VDGIF boat ramp on Rt. 603. We had planned on our typical 3-day adventure but the threat of rain and a fast rising river drove us off the river early.
Spirit of Moonpie and I spent the 14th through the 16th on the Blackwater below Franklin. The water was clear, fast, 34 degrees and 7.27 on the USGS gauge.
Spirit of Moonpie and I spent the 5th through the 7th on the Blackwater above Joyners Bridge. The water was high at 9ft. on the USGS Gauge, clear, fast and 34 degrees, which is really cold.
Spirit of Moonpie & I spent the 3rd through the 5th on the Blackwater below the VDGIF ramp on Rt 603, the Steel Bridge.

Freezing Deer, Spirit of Moonpie & I spent three days on the Blackwater from the 5th through the 7th. Water conditions were bad. The river has not had a good flushing in some time and the water was really stagnant.
